Professional Logging Contractors of Maine 

 

The PLC is a trade organization formed to give independent logging contractors a voice in the rapidly changing logging industry. Jim Nicols, co-owner of Nicols Brothers, currently serves as the second vice-president of the PLC Board of Directors.

Forest Resource Association

 

The Mission of the Forest Resources Association is to promote the interests of forest products industry members in the economical, efficient, and sustainable use of forest resources to meet the needs of the wood fiber supply chain through private enterprise.

Northeastern Loggers Association

 

NELA is a regional trade group representing more than 2,000 members of the Northeast and Lakes' States logging, sawmilling, and forest products community. The mission of NELA is to advocate wise stewardship of our forest resources.

Nicols Brothers and its employees participate in many different non-profit professional organizations.

Maine Forest Products Council

 

Since 1961, the Maine Forest Products Council has been the voice of Maine’s forest economy. The MFPC represents the diverse needs of Maine’s forest products community. Members are landowners, loggers, truckers, paper mills, tree farmers, foresters and lumber processors, but they also include bankers, lawyers and insurance executives. 

River Valley Chamber of Commerce

 

The River Valley Chamber of Commerce was formed in 1912 with the goal of securing new industries and ehancing the already existing industries of the region. The chamber currently has over 100 active members, including Nicols Brothers.
